SPC Nursing Spring 2020

Published

Hi all!

I haven’t seen a post for this yet so figured I’d make one for us! I got the acceptance letter yesterday and started making all my appointments and doing the paperwork and what not. I’m super excited to start in January and was hoping I’d find some other students on here!

Hello and congratulations! I wish you all the best! I also want to recommend BayCare to you as your clinical choice - it is a great hospital. I am finishing up level 4 at SPC - if you have any questions, let me know and I can do my best to answer any questions you may have. Congrats again!

Hey! Just made an account as i’ve seen a lot of people from previous semesters make a whole thread, so I figured to make one myself to hopefully meet some fellow classmates. I have professor Robinson for all my lectures and labs Tuesday-Thursday!

@Ggrayon I have Professor Kerns it looks like! I’m on nights so it should be fun! My clinical are at Northside

Can anyone give me the details for orientation this week?

Not sure about the details for orientation, but all I know is that it’ll help us get ready for what we should expect for the first week of school as well as what we should bring. They’ll also give us a tour as well which i’m planning on doing since I didn’t go during the first one. I remember seeing all the details when they sent out the email to those interested in signing up for the orientation

Hello, this is the first time I have used this site so if I did it wrong, sorry in advance. I was hoping to get advice from some of you who have been accepted to the program already. I already have a bachelors degree (not in nursing) I will apply in September 2020. All I have left is Micro. So far in the classes that SPC looks at to get in, I have all A's except a B in general psych and comp. My question to some of you who have been accepted and gone through the process, should I take those two classes over with Micro and try for an A? Everything I read is, "you better have straight A's or your not getting in". Also, I am a Pinellas county resident.

Hey! I understand the stress you’re feeling right now, but all I can say is that it’s up to you if you feel the need to retake those classes. I actually got a B in Micro lab and lecture, but at the time I was already accepted in the program and still have a 3.9 gpa. I also met a couple people who didn’t have a 4.0, but they were still accepted in the program! If I were you, I would suggest meeting with the advisor at HEC since she can help you out more with your situation and let you know whether or not it’s worth retaking those classes!

Thanks for the feedback. I will and apparently I didnt know what I was doing on here because I thought I was creating a new post. So congrats to all who got in, sorry to piggy back your post! ?

Congratulations to you!! If you don't mind sharing, do you live in Pinellas County? I live in Tampa and I read online that the nursing school accepts Pinellas residents first, and I have a 3.7 G.P.A, but really hoping to get in!!

Hello everyone! I see that advent health is one of the options for clinicals. Does anyone know which campus?
