SPC 2021 Fall Applicants
The health office in your city, Downtown St pete health office did my titers, gave me all my shots and boosters. My PCP signed off on the health exam and the drug test is scheduled with the I believe lab corp. It is important to get your immune records now, if you have had two complete shots of MMR, then you are good, other wise you have to get titers and if titers low, you have to have the shots until the titers are high enough or "pass". Castlebranch will be what they set you up with and you will have a list to get done before starting. DO NOT panic if you are being held up by outside systems, as long as you are trying to get those things done and have the work put in, they will let you start. Now, please understand, you saying you requested records is not gonna cut it. Requesting records, going to health department for titers, and waiting on all that will work and start you on time.

SPC 2021 Fall Applicants
This will be your life for the next 1.5 to 2 years. I don't want to discourage you but I just answered a text 5 mins ago where my Brother in Law was saying "proud of you, love you, hope to get to see you soon". My response was not funny, it was truthful. "Thank you, Love you too, I hope to get to see everyone in a year when I graduate." His response was, "it will be worth it". That is what you will have to do to make it through this. Your family and friends need to bend and snap back. I had a week in half break from level one to level two, everyone knew about this and filled my schedule to see me. You will get real good at saying No to things, or apologizing later for not responding. Remove yourself as the emergency contact to people, or at least have another person added. It is not about scheduling time "to study", it is about schedule time for your life, or "your time" because that is what is going to take a back seat. Now that I have said this, I LOVE IT! I was in ER this past week and learned so much, saw things I thought I would never see in my life, participated in things that I am still babbling about today. It is all worth it.

I would get started on all Immunizations, gathering records or getting titers. I am level 2 right now. You will set up an account with a website and they track all the "pre" stuff you have to do. It takes a while and having all forms of the records they need will speed it along and help lower anxiety about it.

SPC Spring 2021 Applicants
Hey another quick question, would any of you be interested in a face book page just for us? Like the Spring 2021 Nursing students? I could set one up, and we can recruit everyone, share info, due dates, strategies?

I am leaving LTC Care Coordination and probably doing HHA work or move into Mental Health Case Management in the community (flexible schedule). It is not a lot of time to plan, with having to leave my job for this. Fingers crossed, thanks for the info. I might check on hospital work at night and see.

Just wondering if any of you would share, what are you going to be doing as far as work goes?

Thank you, that cleared a lot up. I went back to the attachments and looked there at the student instructions, duh. I was just going by the castle branch and jumping ahead. Thanks again.

I am working on the list. How do I get the ATI signature page? I just got blood drawn for titer. Some of this stuff, will it be explained during orientation? Anybody know?

Purchased the Castle Branch thing, Fingerprints done, drug screen scheduled for this week, Immunization records release mailed off to my state of birth, and my PCP has the health form to complete on our next visit. I go buy my scrubs this weekend. Trying to get done with all the costly things we have to do before. Bitter sweet, I have to leave my great paying job to do this. So trying to get this stuff out of the way while the paychecks are still decent. I know what my Christmas list is going to look like this year and next year. I have told everyone, NCLEX study books, save the receipt incase I get two of the same kind. LOL

I want afternoons. I am leaving a job where I make pretty good money. I want this done sooner than later.

I picked afternoon. I really hope I get it. I would have to make some major hard life choices with the job if I get mornings. And it would mean living that way for a longer time period. Fingers crossed. Fingerprint scheduled for Tuesday, drug screen will be next week. Time to start rolling!

Me and white clothing do not work well. I have not had time to read everything, I am leaning toward black, hides a lot of stuff that can happen to you out on the floor or at lunch. LOL.
