Something to chuckle about

In many newspapers and magazines you will find a column with funny things that people say in speeches, during lectures etc. I'm sure y'all know what I am talking about.

Well here is one from our prof during yesterday's lecture. I recorded him and have been working on my notes all morning and just came across what he said. The class was ROF yesterday and we don't think that he was aware of what he'd said....he didn't get it why we were so amused!

He went on talking about the skin and arrived at the "Stratium corneum" and here is what he said:" The majority of the skin is made up of stratium corneum, which consists of dead, flat keratinocytes. It is a "horny layer" and is 25-30 cell layers thick." I'll bet it will be one of his test questions.....How many layers of skin cells does the horny layer contain? or...What is meant by horny layer???? :D

The horny layer is actually is the outermost layer of the skin. Filled with dead skin cells. Under the microscope this looks like rough areas on horns. Fairly typical word used to describe the layers of skin........
