If you've read a previous post in regards to the patient I care for, you already know she says little random phrases sometimes. It can be very cute and funny, but it's hardly ever at the appropriate time or makes sense. Her ability to communicate her needs is almost non-existent.
Lately we've been focusing on music therapy and working on simple phrases only used in specific situations, so that she may pick up on them.
So, a funny mix up that has occurred... We were trying to get her to say "all done," when she soils her diaper. But apparently decided to adopt my version and now, when she has had a BM, says ... "ARE YA MESSY?"
So the parents have a note up now for all the nurses that reads: When (patient's name) says "are ya messy" she needs to be changed please, she learned this from (my name)
Everyone thinks it's cute and she does use it appropriately so I'll take that gain! Lol:facepalm:
