Hi everyone! I have been stuck in an unfulfilling career for over ten years, and a few months ago, I finally figured out what I want to do when I "grow up". I would love to be a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse.
Currently I have a BS in Math & Computing. I researched the aBSN option, but it would require me to quit my job, and, well, quite frankly, that isn't an option. I need to pay the bills. Also, the school that offers it is one hour away, on a curvy road that I really dislike. LOL!
My more realistic options are: 1) Get my PN at the community college, then get the LPN to RN online, and the RN to BSN online, or 2) Get my ADN at the university that is an hour away, then complete their RN to BSN online program.
Either way, I would probably further my education through them to become a PMH nurse. I'm more focused on becoming an RN or getting my BSN first, so that I can switch fields.
Any advice or experience with similar situations would be greatly appreciated!
