Ok here the situation. After I finished with my BSN in May 2010 it took me six months to find a job:eek:. ( and everyones flocking to Texas to find a job:uhoh3:) I was shooting for the something in Med-Surg in the DFW area but after dozen of interviews it was hopeless. I found a job a the rehab center in my home town. I really didn't wanna come back but I did, it was either that or jobless so I moved back in with my parent, wow big change. While in school I work as a LVN in a rehab/ nursing facility that I end up quiting but they listed me as being terminated. (Really screwed up my chances in the DFW). What happen was when I started they gave me one day of training to learn how change dressings for the entire facility. Then after a while they where expecting me to do stuff I was not trained for ( like wound vacs, when I worked at the hospital a wound certified nurse what do that. I talk to my DON about it she was just nonchalant about it) wow. One day I was like whatever and didn't come in ( I had already applied for another job but my potential employer call the rehab/ nursing center and they was like I was terminated). So fast foward, I got a job in my home town but I really would like to do what I love which is med-surg and of course move out my parents house. I have an interview at one of the big hospitals in DFW but I'm afraid I'll it screw up. Should I tell them I'm currently working because when I applied for the job I was not working but on a previous application for another position I applied for later I listed my current employment. I'm afriad it'll look like I'm jumping ship at my current job. I like my current job but I believe this is really a better fit for my career. I see longevity at this facility plus I'll be closer to friends and family. And what should I say about the previous rehab/ nursing job. Sorry for long post thanks

That ^ sounds like you were a no-call no-show for your shift in which case you were probably terminated. Just not showing up for a shift will get you fired most places.

Contact the person in charge where you were a no-call, no-show and see if you can get your termination recharacterized to a resignation. The worst they can do is say "no". You might want to post this thread in the career forum for more responses.
