I definately agree with #1 and #2
I'd add :
#4 Do Not under estimate the time and resources needed for training. Do not skimp on training those who will be using the system
#5 Remember the importance of process redesign PRIOR to implementing the technology. Technology over bad/ineffective processes is like putting jewelry on a pig. Its still a pig......... wearing jewelry
#6 Have a game plan for implementing change management , successfully addressing resistance to change and facilitating effective, organization wide communication vehicles.
All of the above are the fundamentals needed to ensure the success of the technology's use in practice.
