Simple question, simple answer!

let me tell you something here. i had to write many and i mean many papers this semester all in mla format. i had used the format before (as i have used apa) but it takes longer to figure out the format than it does to write the paper. anyway , i am a rn student and joined the nsna (national students nursing association) when i got my info packet i got a little card with a advertisement for reference point software. you can either buy the mla or apa templates (or both really). this is the best thing i ever did. i paid something like $30 then downloaded the software and have used it probably 40 times so far ... saves me mountains of time. one thing it does is with just a couple of clicks and filling in some blanks it will create my bibliography. that was taking me forever...this has saved me academically ....here is the web site make sure you look at apa and not mla

I have APA-Style Helper 5.0 that works for Word 2007. I have an unregistered copy of word 2007, so until I get a legit copy, I can't use the APA-Style Helper I purchased. I would rather just get an answer to the one question I had in regards to weather I need to list the State along with the title of the college I attend on the cover page. All the examples I have looked at on the internet and in my text don't spell it out black and white. Does anyone know? Thanks for the suggestion anyway.

also, I tried to get the free APA template from microsoft office online, but like I said until I get a registered copy...

I do have 1 APA template, but it doesn't answer questions like these.

I don't know if it is a hard and fast rule, but yes put the state in there.

Also as a side note, the running head and your actual title typically aren't the same. I don't know if that is just your example or not.

Lol.. as for the running head and title not being the same, yeah, i know,but thanks for pointing it out. I didnt stop to think of what to put other than example title. Thanks for the response. I very much appreciate it.

I've never explicitly put the state in which the school was located and I've never been dinged for it (in some cases, it was an integral part of the university name, though).

Recognize that the name "City University of New York" is the formal name of the institution (aka CUNY) so the NY name belongs in the title. FWIW, the "New York" in that title probably refers to the city of NY rather than the state of NY.

I'd just use whatever college name the college uses on its catalog and letterhead.

Yeah, you don't need the state name unless it is part of the university name. The running head in APA is supposed to be the first few words of the paper title. This is according to the APA handbook, although, the school may have rules which supersede the APA rules.
