SILVER NITRATE

have any of you ever used silver nitrate sticks on the base of base of a wound??? just curious as i saw an order come across the other day and i have only seen it used by WOCN to open up wound edges..

    A baby in home care had an order for it for their GT site, but only the parents would use it.

    Yes - have used it for hypergranulation tissue or for "bleeders" in a wound. Also, like mentioned around - around G-tubes or suprapubic catheter sites. And for rolled wound edges. We get the order from the docs and then keep a few in the home to use PRN.
