Really depends on what you what to have at your fingertips? Do you want to live in a big city with culture? Or would you rather live in a rural area that allows you to live in a small community and have access to the outdoor activities? What do you want your nursing practice to be? What area do you want to work? For me, the area that I work in limits the places that I can go. Madison, Milwaukee, Eau Claire, Oshkosh, Green Bay, Marshfield, and Appleton all have rather large hospitals. Anywhere else is going to have a smaller rural community hospital.

hello,

thanks for your reply. first, i guess i would like to live somewhere between a city and a rural area. i don't really care for "big city living" or "driving for an hour to get to the grocery store." as far as type of practice, i would like to work in an er (at least that is where i think i want to be).

what i really want to know is what there is to do in different parts of Wisconsin. i've been reading about diff. areas and right now Oshkosh seems very interesting to me. i love the outdoors, but i also want to be able to go to a museum or theater. other than that, i want it to be as safe an area as possible for my family. Also, i would like my kids to attend great schools.

once again i appreciate your reply.

thank you,

jay

I would suggest MADISON, or the surrounding suburbs, such as Middleton, Verona, Fitchburg! Madison has a ton of things to do...arts, eats, athletics, outdoors, the University. Its a wonderful place to raise a family! The surrounding communties are known for their excellent school systems! Im from Middleton, which was rated the 7th best place to live (for smaller towns)....Money Magazine in the US! As for the ER.....you can work at University Hospital where all of the Trauma cases are sent (they also have Flight R.N.s)...or there is Meriter, St. Marys, or The Veterns Hospital! Good LUCK......If I were you...I'd go the Madison route!
