Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello everyone,

So i currently go to a CSU, i am a pre nursing major but because of my GPA, i have been discouraged in applying for the BSN program here at school or anyschool for that matter. I've been here for about 4 years now and i am stuck and confused with what i want to do next. I'm looking into a vocational nursing program, Brightwood College, formally known as Kaplan. I dont know what i should do or if im making the right decision. thoughts?

Don't know anything about Brighton, but Kaplan is rather expensive. Do you have an junior colleges near you that offer the LVN? I recommend checking into something like that before going the Kaplan way.

Thank you for your response,

Yes there are JCs that offer the VN program, however they only accept applications once a year.

You stated "I currently go to a CSU, i am a pre nursing major but because of my GPA, i have been discouraged in applying for the BSN program here at school..."

I wouldn't throw in the towel (give up) just yet. Surely there's a path toward nursing that is a good fit for you. Yes, it's a hurdle to jump over (or numerous hurdles!) but it's worth it.

It's likely that many of us here on this site weren't straight-A students.

I encourage you to keep asking questions here and look at all your options.
