Should I accept a Relocation offer?

Published

I am a 3yr Med-Surg RN with hospital experience living in NJ. I decided to try travel nursing for the first time and I was just offered a relocation package.......to Wyoming. Should I take it?

I would love to hear some feedback and/or opinions about this dilemma.

Thanks

Can you tell me about your relocation package?

Thanks.

Hello...My relocation package consists of the Hospital paying me (with the first paycheck) $1600 for first months rental assistance, $3000 for relocation costs, $5000 sign-on bonus, given in 1/3 ($1667 with first paycheck, 1/3 after first year and 1/3 after second year)

Pay rate would be $23.86/hr

I told the agency that I have no money at all to start with....he stated that they would be willing to front me the money needed to get there and I would be expected to pay them back.

Please tell me what you think....

Thanks

I'm not a nurse sorry. My daughter was considering being a traveling nurse. I just wondered what your package included.

New Jersey to Wyoming?

You are the only one who can decide if it's worth uprooting your life and being in debt for a while.

$23.86 seems low for hospital wages, but maybe the cost of living in Wyoming is low.

Research the hospital and location. Find out what's there and about costs. See what there is for activities and such. You will need support and people around you. cThat about what I make staff nursing in a small hospital. Sounds low for travel but could be fun too. Just be aware travelers don't get orientation or much of one. You will be expected hit the ground running regardless of situation. Overall id say go for it just do your research first
