seven weeks of insanity

Hello to all EC students. I have been trying for several months to maintain my job in LTC doing 12 hour shifts, parent my 15 year old and drive him and all of his friends all over southeastern Massachusetts, not to mention housework, food shopping, cooking, and tolerating the lazybones husband.

So, I just quit my job this am, said I would do the occasional per diem, told my kid that he is in for some long bike rides, told husband that I am on strike for the immediate future.

I have 5 Nursing Concept Exams scheduled between August 8 and September 8 as well as Lynn's Cpne workshop in CHarlotte (This is my vacation, 15 hour car ride all by myself :yeah:, then Tina's workshop in PA in Sept and I am going for a one day cancellation appt for CPNE. Don't know if I have lost my mind or my patience, but I'll let you all know how it worked out and prepare a journal for my CPNE experience to post here.

Thanks for listening, and if I don't post for awhile you will know why:typing

I love your post!! I know how you feel.. kind of. I don't have the stressors of having a kid, but I know the full time job thing. I took this summer off and have completed 2 exams so far, and am scheduled to take 3 more by Aug. 31. NC 6 is next on Friday... I am freaking out!

Good for you for making this a priority!!

Anything is possible! I wish you luck on your journey!

Thanks for the encouragement. I told my son what I am up to and we agreed to not tell Easychair Rider, aka husband. Husband thinks that anything to do with him comes first.....SURPRISE!!

maura- I went PRN when I was doing the EC program, too. It was a good decision- you'll get through the program faster, and can work around your test dates more flexibly.
