Serious Question

Serious Question..

do any of you taking PRESCRIBED medication (Adderall) for ADD and to help you concentrate more on ur studies?

I take a combination of Adderall and Concerta, because I have ADHD. Contrary to popular belief, it is not to help me study and it does not give me an "edge", it just gives me a level playing feild with people who are not constantly distracted by shiny objects ;)

I know some people use it to "help them study"-what I have found in people who don't actually have ADD/ADHD is it just makes them "high" and gives them enough energy to pull an all-nighter but does nothing to help them concentrate. And it is an abuse of the prescription that creates a stigma for those of us who actually need it to function.

i am prescribed adderall for my ADHD, it really calms me down and helps me concentrate so i can study without being distracted as easily. I don't take it while i'm at school because i don't want people to know i take it, but i do have a really hard time concentrating in some of my lecture classes. I mentioned it to one person and they started talking about how doctors over prescribe it and most people don't actually need it and blah blah blah. Even though there may be some truth to that, it really bothered me because i do know that i need it!
