Self-Scheduling Programs

Does anyone have any reviews of self-scheduling staffing programs? I've looked at Shiftwizard, Schedule360 (staffing angel), and Shifthound. Shiftwizard seems the most competent and user friendly. Does anyone else have an opinion?

We use the good old trusty gridded paper and pencil. Works well for us, but since we all work 7-3:30, all we have to sign up for is call shifts and weekend coverage. I'll admit to preferring the low tech version.

We use smart square, as an employee it seems fairly straight forward when I go to schedule myself.

We use API at my hospital and it's terrible!!!!

Thanks for all the input so far! I'll stay away from API, traumanightsRN was not the only one I heard negative comments from.

Anyone know about ShiftWizard? I would love to get some feedback on them.

I've used Shiftwizard in the past. Its a great system. Our staff loved it. From the perspective of a manager, it was very easy to use, and provided me with all of the information I needed, regarding my department, on one screen. They also had feeds to our bed board and Kronos, which gave me real time insights, which was extremely beneficial. I was able to give my charge nurses limited capabilities, which allowed them to handle issues that I would've otherwise had to handle. I have used Kronos scheduler and API/GE's scheduler before. They were both horrible.

We just went to Kronos... It's awful.

We used Shiftwizard and everyone hated it. It caused more problems than worth and we are better off using excel spreadsheets at this point. We are also looking for a new system.

Do you mean Shift Wizard of Shiftwise?

Shiftwizard is the one we used and hated. I've never heard about Shiftwise.
