I can take my temperature. I can check my pulse. I can auscultate my heart, lung, and bowel sounds. I can even, with a mirror, check my eyes, nose, and throat. But no matter how hard I try, I can't look inside my own ears. I don't know if I have impacted cerumen, an infection, or pressure from sinus congestion. Guess I'll be making an appointment with my PCP in the morning.

But seriously, just have a loved one or close friend look for you. Heck, I pick my kids ears all the time; you won't believe some of the stuff I've pulled out of their auditory canals...
