Are they both good? I will be taking nclex twice. I used kaplan before and right now I am looking for other reviewer. Any ideas if this would help students who will be taking the

Nclex second time aroind???

how about hurst and ncsbn?

If you failed with Kaplan, then you probably need content. My husband failed the first time. He did the retake this morning, did the PVT and got the "good pop-up." He reviewed and practiced questions for about 7 weeks before the second test. He thinks the Exam Cram review book, NCSBN Learning Extension, and the LaCharity Priority, Delegation & Assignment book helped the most. He also did the NCLEX Made Incredibly Easy review book and Question and Answer book. Even though he didn't get a chance to finish it, he also liked the Saunder's Q & A book. It is broken up according to the NCLEX categories instead of body systems, so you can focus on your weak areas. Hope this helps and best wishes on your next exam! :)

April31099 is totally right Kalop!! Different Materials work for different people. I merely told you what I used and it worked for me. Good Luck!!

yhea i think i think i need content....

I looked at Exam Cram as well, but didn't use the cd (not mac compatible). I didn't do a lot in it because I used that free site RN3500 . I focused mainly on doing questions. If I don't pass than I'll have more time to really look at Exam Cram. It was easy to understand. I used ncsbn for the pn exam a year ago. That was helpful as well. I have some test anxiety so I had to focus on some techniques like taking my hand off of the mouse and deep breathing.

cheyvyv, so what reviewer did u use?

I used HURST review & Sauders...faithfully & did KaplanQ's!!!! but, Hurst is good in becoming strong in content!!!! I passed 1st time with 75Q's.We were required to take the course in school...everyone in my class so far hv passed the 1st time...Good luck on studying!!

I did lots of questions from the free site nclex review 3500. There is a link in one of the threads on this site. I also dragged out the math drug calc book and worked on that. I tend to not hold math formulas in my head for long. Everyday I did review questions so I got feedback after every question. Then when I got bored with that I would take a test, usually 75 questions. I few times I did 150 just to prepare me to sit for a long time when taking the actual test.

I took my hand off of the mouse every time during the exam. This forced me to really look and read both questions and answers. I used the ear plugs and made sure to remain focused. Pm me if you like.
