Hello eeryone,

First of all I want to say that I get on this website just about every day and I LOVE it!! I love reading all the posts and there are so many wonderful nurses on here..Anyway, I just wanted to get some encouragement. I attempted the nursing program last fall and in my school you have to have an 80% to pass. At the end of the quarter I ended up with a 79.8%!!! I failed out! I was in the teachers office crying and she apologized and said "I'm sorry, you're out"! Well, I was way upset about it but I picked up more hours at work, etc. and am back at it again this year. I started school today and I think I will be fine this time but just am a little nervous...

I'm in the same situation. At least you aren't giving up on becoming a nurse. I'm actually doing CNA this time. I'm hoping the CNA program will give me a good background for nursing.

if you had a 79.8%, don't they follow the rules of math? wouldn't you have ended up with an 80%? good luck to you, and congrats on not giving up on your dreams...

It depends on the school. Some schools round up and some dont. My school rounded up at 74.6 for a passing grade of 75%.

no, our school stopped rounding up that same quarter!
