I just passed boards, and a job I have been interviewing just gave me call back.
They offered me a scribe job. At first my stomach hit the floor. I thought all they did was follow the doctor around and type. When is said something like "I would really like to do more nursing duties." The nurse manager did tell me that I'd be one of two nurses with this provider and I would be going back and forth with the other scribe every other patient, one scribing, one rooming. That made me feel a little better. Also, if after I interviewed with the doctor, if I didnt feel like it would work, they could offer me a different position.
Than I called my sister who works for the same hospital as an LPN and she told me it was actually a very good job because Ill learn a lot from the doctor and since I want to evemtually get my NP.
Any insight? Anybody work as a scribe in a clinic setting? Any advice?
