Hi, Morgan,

I am currently in their ADN program, just finishing up first year.

I applied for the program in May, 2006, and at that time they said I would start in Sept 2008. Last June, they called me up for 2007. I think I was about #30 on the list for 2008, and they called all the way up into the 50's on the waiting list, so it wasn't as intimidating as I thought. They take 90 students every fall.

I have heard rumors that they are changing things, though, so you should check with a counselor. Mrs. Lajoy was very helpful for me (some are not so much). Right now you can go on the waiting list as soon as you have taken the basic prereqs (AP, Bio and the NET test)

I am very happy with Schoolcraft and am very impressed with the instructors and the support staff. It has been a great experience so far!

Feel free to ask any other questions...

hi michigangirl,

thank you for that information. i talk to a counselor and she was kind of helpful; but i need to take ap and the net test then i can apply. so i don't think it as hard as wcccd. if you don't mind i will pm you regarding who's the best teacher to get for what class. i've never been to this school. i really don't want to get a bad teacher. i will be starting in the fall. what's your opinion regarding the lpn program or rn program. i am interested in the rn but if i can get into lpn program before the rn i will take that route and continue into the ladder program.

Morgan,

I was originally going to go that route when I heard about the waitlist, but the LPN program only admits 30 students (I think). I originally applied for that program (In fall of 2005) and was told I would start in 2007. I continued on taking the prereqs, and then applied to the RN program - they will only let you apply to one program at a time. I still started in 2007 so it didn't matter anyway.

I don't know much about the LPN to RN program, only that they "bridge" into the program in the spring after the first year in the Psych rotation. I am doing that rotation now, and 4 people in my clinical are LPNs (out of 8). Then they will go on to do the same second year. They admit LPNs to bridge as other people fail out of the first year - and unfortunately, that can be more than a few!

I took one instructor for all of my AP classes and Micro, and I thought he was great! I'll tell you who if you PM me!
