Hello all,
I wish I created this a while ago. I'm just so lost and confused, I would really appreciate it if someone could help me.
i just finished nursing school I got my ADN, and planning to start at GW to get my BSN this fall. This summer I have to take microbiology and STAT and pass my nclex before I start GW. I did get a job offer at a hospital close by in IMCU which I'm thankful about. Im just really debating on whether I should just take a step back and just focus on work at this time and attend school next semester? Oh and I'm also turning 31 this year and planning on starting a family. Sooo I just need to hear from someone that went through something similar and can share their experiences and what the outcome was. Is it doable, should I take a year off. Please help. Thank you

I would give yourself a break. Pass NCLEX, start the job. School is not going anywhere.

I have a similar storyline- new ADN goes to MICU and completes BSN pre-reqs to continue formal schooling while still finding footing as a nurse. I did great in school and on the job. Hindsight being 20/20: I would have waited a year for the BSN so that it was less on my plate. I was just afraid to sit still at the time.
