I'm going into the 2nd year of nursing school and currently work part-time in a hospital in a non-judgemental position. A similar position has recently opened up for a 7on/7off role. I would love the schedule and desperately need a full time position anyway, but I'm concerned it might be too difficult on the weeks I'd work. Another part of me says, I need the money, need the school, I just have to power through.
I have completed all coursework aside from the actual nursing courses, so I'll only be in 3 classes a semester for the rest of my academic career. I've always been a decent student and get good grades without needing to put in a ton of work. That said, I'm not an instantaneous learner, I do need some time to review.
I was wondering, to those further along in the process, do you think you could have handled a 7on/7off FT position? Those of you who work, what jobs do you have that mesh well with school and studying? I'm getting panicky and thinking for forfeiting my place because of my financial demands, but I've wanted to be a nurse for ages...
