Salaries in schools are uniformly lower than in hospitals. How much lower depends on the part of the country you are in and if you are urban, suburban or rural. I have been able to negotiate a higher starting salary a few times, but I was coming in with ICU skills they needed for students with disabilities.

Definitely less than hospitals. however, you get shorter hours, more vacations. holidays etc..and, if you live in the northeast, SNOW DAYS!!! good luck with your search!

Agreed! I work in a rural area in the southeast and I took almost a 50% pay cut, but I truly love my job...if my husband would quit bugging me about the money part it would be perfect!!!
