Salaries in schools are uniformly lower than in hospitals. How much lower depends on the part of the country you are in and if you are urban, suburban or rural. I have been able to negotiate a higher starting salary a few times, but I was coming in with ICU skills they needed for students with disabilities.
Hi school nurses...I am a new grad and want to go into school nursing for kids with disabilities and just wanted to know if there is a pay difference between the school and hospital setting?? Any info is much appreciated!!
Agreed! I work in a rural area in the southeast and I took almost a 50% pay cut, but I truly love my job...if my husband would quit bugging me about the money part it would be perfect!!!
