which school should I go to?

Published

Hey guys! So, I'm having to make a huge decision about where to go for my undergrad in nursing and I needed some help. Im debating if I should go to Mercer University (atlanta campus) for $30,000 per year OR if I should go to University of Illinois- Chicago (one of the top ranked nursing programs in the nation) for $50,000 per year. The BSN programs are both 2 years.

My goal is to become a nurse practitioner, so I will be applying for a grad program after 1 year of nursing experience, hopefully. Let me know what you guys would do or what I should research!

How are you finding the $60,000 or $100,000 education? Federal loans & grants won't cover the cost. Do you already have a degree? If so investigate if your area considers direct entry masters nurses (not all do).

The pricings I gave are estimates with housing, tuition, and other fees. I did not receive as much from scholarships and the government as I had hoped. :(

Is each school accredited by the state's nursing board?

What's the first time NCLEX-RN pass rate for each school?

Neither, go to a state school. Is private school your only option?
