Scared Newbie :0)

I'm brand new and will be applying for LPN school in Feb. I'm a mom of 4 and REALLY, REALLY nervous about how I'm going to do this with 4 kids. I was going to do RN but I would be delayed a year getting my prerequisites done so I decided to do LPN, work a year and bridge. Same difference time wise so why not make a little money in the process. I'm kind of squeamish so I'm worried about the whole bodily blood and guts thing but my friend and aunt who are nurses tell me you get used to it. I've never dreamed of being a nurse but recently started working as a private duty sitter in a nursing home and found I really like to take care of and help people.

I'm taking 2 courses over the summer and I'm worried because it's 8 weeks and I'm old lol. Hopefully I will do OK :)

I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Hi Austincb!

Nice to meet you :) Also I commend you on going forward into a nursing profession..Im a mother myself so time is of the essence, thats why I plan to do an lpn program and bridge over to RN..8 wks is better than 16 wks lol But it all comes down to time management and getting used to a rigourous schedule, clinicals,&study time. You definitely came to the right place for lots of information! We are all here to help one another succeed in school, work and beyond :) Where r you from?
