I'm starting Bluefield state.this fall for pre nursing. I'm only.scheduled for four classes. I was thinking of adding at least two more. I have a 1 yr. Old and I'm currently doing mod classes to start work at.res care. Anyone have any advice? I know this is going to be a huge task and I'm not sure I'm ready or that I'll even succeed. I just want better for my child and I want have.a.career that is rewarding.

I am in the same boat as you dear, i didnt even start with my pre requisites an i am nervous by all the other comments made about how hard the nursing program is. I will give my best and trust in myself. I know you can do it just keep the hard work up.
Yes, I'm also afraid of not getting into the actual program. I didn't realize everything was so competitive!

I would stick with 4 classes. That will be plenty to keep you busy, especially with a 1 yo. Six classes is a LOT, especially depending on what you are taking. If you are taking any of the harder classes such as Anatomy, Chemistry, or Micro, 4 will definitely be enough classes. My rule for myself is to take one harder class with 3 easier classes so I won't be overwhelmed. I have a 5 yo and a 3 yo and work full time. This semester I am taking Chem, ethics, religion, and sociology.
You can do it! Just make sure you schedule time to study and time to spend with your baby and you will be fine!

I'm a mom of two (ages 16 and 11) just starting my pre-requisites, too. Because I've been out of school so long, the advisor I spoke with suggested easing back in. I'm registered for four classes: college algebra, intro to microcomputers, composition & rhetoric, and introductory psychology. I figure after this first semester, I'll be acclimated to school life enough to tackle the tougher stuff.
I'm scared (and like you guys, terrified of not getting into the nursing program), but I'm really looking forward to getting started. I know it won't be easy, but as long as I do my best, that's all I can ask of myself. I have the added bonus of setting a good example for my kids, at the same time.
So far my classes are: chemistry, math, computer, and composition. I'll have a part-time job to deal with too.
