Is the latest edition of Saunders Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX-RN Examination the 3rd edition? I just bought it yesterday but then thought because of the new format of the NCLEX, that possibly there is a new edition. Someone please enlighten me. Thanks.

The format of the NCLEX hasn't changed, just the passing standard.
ok, cool. Never believe rumors....I just finished 3rd semester and all the 4th semester people kept telling us the whole format changed. Thanks for clearing that up medchick.

The latest Saunders is the 4th edition.
I purchased the 3rd edition because it was on a required list for last semester, but never used it.(wish the instructors could figure out what they are doing...) Next semester we are required to do 3000 questions out of the 4th edition book for a class.
Now that I own both editions, , I can say they are similar. If you just bought the 3rd to review for yourself, then go ahead and use it. Most of the questions are identical or VERY similar in both books. I am planning to use the 4th for class, and then do the qiestions in the 3rd after I graduate to review for the NCLEX. Hopefully I will remember them.

The Saunders green is a descent review book. I wouldnt concentrate solely on that though. I prefer to just take a few practice questions from it now and then. They have great rationales

Many people are successful using the Saunders Comprehensive Review as the basis for their studying. They also use Linda LaCharity's book on prioritization and the Kaplan review book for test strategies.
