Tweety that sounds like a good plan

Dianah glad you slept better last night

Stars glad your plans are coming together, a major improvement from the way things were previously

NJ22 I don't think I've gotten that type of letter from a doctor before

Today is the 82nd anniversary of D Day

Yesterday was pretty good at work, just a bit of craziness, spent a lot of time on the side project but thankfully I had time to spare. Rest of the day was quiet, just a little exercise and an errand

Got up quite early today so I can do the 4am shift at the donut fundraiser for the gay group. Surprised I'm not more tired than I am. Will likely head to the Arboretum afterwards as the rain should stop after the early morning. Will have lunch with dad as usual and exercise

Will be warmer today, in the mid 80s

Slept pretty well and woke up in a ball of sweat, shivering if any air got under the covers. Time to ditch the down comforter, I guess!

Today it will be warmer (ie HOT) here compared to the temps where I will be living in a few weeks. And the humidity is pretty much equal in both here and there, with there being a slight edge higher.

Woke up at 3:41 AM again. This is getting to be a weird habit. Anybody else in the "3 AM Club"? Tinker moaned and groaned at me to turn the light off, settle down, and get under the covers.

So, when my meds convince the worst of the lower extremity aching to calm down, I will arise, dress, and get busy doing something or other. But first, that all important second cup of coffee is required!

It's Saturday and that means the in-laws will be coming back from their vacation tomorrow. 😐☹️ See how excited I am? 🫣< peeking out between my fingers. It's hard to see that, which is why I have explained it.

Okay, no book-writing this morning, as I have been doing both AM and PM lately. ☺️ No guarantees about later, though!

Good evening

Joe, hope you had a good outing. Nice of you to take such an early shift.

Stars, hope the aches and pains are minimal and you get stuff done.

We remained short staffed today and I had a 6:1 assignment. Needless to say no charge nurse duties got done.

I also made a med error in my business, but I also blame my scanner for not working. I had to reboot it twice. Had it been working I might have caught my error instead of giving the patient the wrong dose. But ultimately it's my fault and I am seriously bummed I pulled the wrong medication. Even with 6:1 and being in charge I need to breath and focus more.

Back tomorrow and if no one calls out we will have one more nurse than today.

I don't remember what the drug was that I gave a too high dosage of in 1985, but it made the patient's heart rate beat rapidly, and you could see her veins throbbing hard in her neck! I was so scared! My heart was in my throat when I had to call her doctor. Fortunately the Doc and his Assistant were not terribly alarmed, and reassured her (and me) that it would soon wear off, without any ill effects. After a while, when he came up on the floor he actually patted me on my shoulder telling me it was not as horrible a mistake as I thought. WHEW!!

But the REASON I ended up giving the wrong dose? It was because in the very small med room, there were four other nurses and one standing in the doorway of the med room; they were all chatting and laughing while getting meds for their patients. No excuse for me, I felt, really, but it was what happened. I learned a valuable lesson, and was so thankful the doc didn't jump on me about it. And the more I thought about it, at the time, I was pretty p.o'd at those other nurses.

So on another subject, yes I did get a good bit of moving-prep taken care of today. I have more to do, of course, but realized it will still be another month before I need to get a POD. I looked again on-line about the costs of the POD, and kind of panicked that it being at the beginning of the Summer, a POD might not be available when I want it, and probably will cost more due to the long distance it would have to be hauled... 429 miles, across two state lines, which for some strange reason affects the price. But at least it isn't clear across the country!

I have talked to all my immediate neighbors and told them what was going on. The weird guy two houses over offered to pay me for any of hubby's tools he could get, "even screws, nuts, and bolts." ( of which hubby had drawersful.) I told him I had no idea what BiL might think about that, but I decided right then and there, I was determined whatever money was obtained would be MINE, and not used for She-Whose-Name-Shall-Not-Be Mentioned to pay in part for her nsg-home costs! It very well may not be much, but I want every single penny of it, even if pennies are no longer widely in circulation any more.

Speaking of pennies, I also found several coin collections of nickels and pennies placed in coin-sized slots in folders which my father-in-law had collected. I don't think they will be worth much, but I can check them for any that MIGHT be worth more , due to one reason or another, like little mistakes made when they were minted. And I can always put them in rolls and trade them in for paper money, if nothing else! Maybe the bank will still accept the pennies regardless of a penny not being worth a penny anymore, but some of them MIGHT be ALL COPPER, and that's gotta be worth SOMETHING since people are currently going to new construction sites and stripping all the copper wiring during the night, to sell it. Will be worth looking into anyway.

Okay, gotta fold clothes; I found a set of sheets I had forgotten I had, and a nice, pale yellow cotton blanket with no stains or holes of wear and tear in it. Gathered together my towels and washcloths. Have several very good Winter coats I will somewhat sadly donate to the Battered Women's Shelter Store, because even if they are not seasonal right now, and I haven't had to wear ANY of them since I moved here....I like them a LOT! But I seriously doubt I will need them in Florida!

I did get dishes washed, and went through the shelves under the counter in the kitchen. I didn't find any that I felt I could take with me just to store for another year or ten, although there were pyrex things in very good shape, all of different sizes that I once used when I cooked casseroles and meat loaf, pies, and baked or roasted whatever. I did throw out a lot of plastic plates, bowls, dishes, and sticky, stained, old food-storage containers. I should have left them ALL for SiL to deal with! But they went into the recyclable bin. I also found three birthday cards I had purchased for my brother and never mailed. His 73rd b'day is today, so I mailed him all three, plus the one I bought for this year. And I came across a grade school photo of him which I had labeled "Dave.....8th grade" as if I wouldn't remember who he was, and to top it all off, I cannot remember ANY of us EVER calling him "Dave". He ALWAYS insisted we call him DAVID and would not answer if anyone called him Dave!

So, I guess that is today's "book" of a post. Can't guarantee anything about tomorrow or Monday, since SiL and BiL will be home from vacay, and there is something that is sure to be spoken of. And I have yet to search through the things I stored in the shed 10 years ago!

Gouda Nite!
