San Diego, CA Programs 2017

Hello -

I am looking for fellow nursing hopefuls in the SD, CA area!

I'm currently applying for the following programs:

BSN - WGU, Cal State San Marcos, National University

ADN - Miracosta, Grossmont & Southwestern

Just wondering if there are any others out there willing to share their profiles or experiences. I know SoCal programs are very competitive and impacted... This will be my first time applying to nursing school and I'm a nervous wreck as expected!

I have a poor undergrad GPA (2.97) in Physiology due to having so many Calculus, Physics and Chem classes... However, my "pre-nursing science core" is usually around 3.3 GPA, and additional reqs are typically around 3.7 GPA. I also have a Masters in Healthcare Management with 2 additional grad certificates with a 3.82 GPA from 12/2014.

I recently took my TEAS V earlier this month and was lucky to obtain a 92.7%.

I have several years of experience in the medical field and am currently a Certified Case Manager & Chronic Care Professional health coach.

Really got my fingers cross for acceptance to a BSN program :) Wishing to find some support and camaraderie with others in the San Diego area! Best of luck to all!

Sincerely, Es

I applied to Grossmont for the Spring 2017 cohort. TEAS score was 86.7%. I am guesstimating about 72 points. My science GPA was 3.3 and other courses 4.0. I have an AS degree and work as a phlebotomist. Anxiously awaiting notification. I have heard mid Sept for the first round of notifications to go out.

Welcome and wishing you good luck in the Cohort - This is the same one I have applied to , and yes I also heard that from August 1 the usual notifications take about 6-8 weeks! The wait is killing me lol

Upon reading different threads i did head that the scale of accepted nurses ranges from 70-80 so you're in a good spot as well!

hi there!! I am applying to CSU san marcos ABSN for the summer 2017 term. your experience looks like it will help you a lot for most of the apps. CSUSM only does a point system so they dont ask for resumes sadly, but your scores arent bad!! especially your TEAS! good luck :)

I'm applying to southwestern with 73 total points. Any chances of me getting in what do you guys think?

Goof Luck to everyone applying!

I think you have a chance Brandyp
