salaryrange for staff developer

HI. Anyone out there who can help me give a salary range as a nursing staff developer. i am currently an LPN and was offered DSD position. I dont know if the job is worth it. I get a lot of overtime working as an LPN but i dont know if swithing to monday to friday job position will still give a good salary. How can u guys describe working as a staff deveopler. Is it hard or easy, is it more responsibility? Should i just turn down the offer, or accept? honestly i am scared and want to get feedbacks from the those who's in that position. Please help me decide. Thanks in advance:o

I am curious as to what an average salary wage would be as well. I am an RN and work in a small community hospital.

Note that the OP was an LPN. Their salary range may be different.

As an RN working in a staff development position in a hospital ... the salarly range varies widely depending upon your educational level, years of experience in staff development, and the general salary ranges of your area based on your cost of living.

For RN's with a Master's Degree -- in average-size hospitals in towns with an average cost of living -- the range is in the $50,000 - $80,000 range. In larger cities with higher costs of living, some nurses with lots of experience make $100,000 or even $120,000. In areas where the salary range is lower, you would expect to see a $40,000 - $60,000 range.

Also, if you don't have a Master's Degree, the range might be lower. My hospital (mid-sized city, average cost of living for the USA) has 2 different salary position titles -- with different salary ranges -- for those with MSN's and those without.

Your range is accurate here in the midwest.

I've yet to work in a position that has pay grades dependent on education: my BSN at the bedside, nor my MSN in the educator role. Good thing that pay wasn't my motivation for returning to school! :specs:

Every job I have held in 4 different states gave a higher starting wage with a BSN or above.
