Rush University GEM Program Fall 2020

Hi all, just submitted my application and received an interview for the MSN/GEM program for fall 2020. I wanted to know if anyone has any insight on the interview process. Would also love to discuss the program!

Thank you for that information I was originally #35 on the waitlist so not sure what my chances are. I am not sure about DePaul at this time but I’ve heard rumors that classes will likely start online initially.

I got into a program in Ohio for May and they have moved their start to fall. Nothing is really certain at the moment

I am attending Marquette and our program starts in May. They have told us that we will likely be online for the Summer with a skills lab bootcamp in August

They have not mentioned anything at Depaul that they are planning on starting classes online but I assume they will. I'm just hoping this won't affect clinicals too much

Just wanted to give heads up to those waiting and who think it may be impossible to get off waitlist. I got off the waitlist today, and I was initially number 28 on the list. With corona and everything going on I think we can assume more people will get off the waitlist. As for me, I’m excited that I got in but I don’t think I’ll go considering everything that’s going on currently, I don’t feel prepared to move from California — just as a heads up to those still on the waitlist.

best of luck to everyone — this program looks great! ?

Hi all!
I just submitted my deposit for RUSH 30 Gem cohort.

Would anyone be willing to be available for any advice/questions I have?

im particularly interested in learning more about housing and the financial aspect (I will be moving from San Diego)

I am pretty desperate!

Does anyone know how often Rush emailed you on your updated rankings?? Any information would be great. Thank you!

Hi I was in 2020 and did not end up getting off waiting list which was large 75 I think. As people move off waiting list you can see your number get closer to top, but  towards the end you don't hear much. It's best to have multiple plays. I love being a nurse !

Hi, thank you for responding. You were #75 on the waitlist??? I just wanted to know how often did Rush email your rankings. Was it frequent?? I mean this because they notified me 3 times and after that I didn’t really get anymore emails. So I was worried if Admissions stop emailing students about their ranking once the 76 seats spots are filled for that Cohort… I’m glad you love being a nurse even now with the pandemic. Thank you for the time you took responding back. It really means a lot.

No I wasn't 75th I was 38th, as I said there's a lot of notification at first as the top candidates decide which school they want to attend. I'm not sure in the end how many people got off waitlist but it was a lot and I was very close to the top eventually. Every year is different. Don't worry about what school you get into, it all works out in the end.
