Rush GEM Winter 2009

Published

Just found out I got accepted about a week ago. Anyone else starting in 09?

Congrats! I found out in June that I got accepted and I'll be starting Winter '09 too!

I just graduated from Northwestern this spring and am living in Evanston until school starts. Still waiting to hear from Rush about fin aid and housing...

I just had my interview for Rush's GEM program on August 27th. When do you think I should hear a reply? How long did you wait after your interviews??

Thanks!

chicagochicklett,

I'm a Northwestern student too!

I had applied to UIC, Yale, and Columbia but got really nervous tonight and just decided to go for Rush as well. I'm applying for summer entry but I really don't know much about the program. What can you tell me? What school were you in while you were at NU?

Hi sevillaes!

Are you currently a student at Northwestern or have you already graduated? I majored in Communication Sciences and Disorders, minor in global health.

I have orientation in 2 weeks so I still don't know too much about it'll be like once I start in January. Basically, it's a 21 month program, with the last quarter as a full time residency in a department. You end up with a master's a focus on clinical leadership.

I've been volunteering at Rush for a year and have gotten to knwo the hospital and it's awesome because UIC and Cook County are right next door so you're really on a medical campus. I'm so excited to start in a month!!

chicagochicklett,

I am a current NU student (senior in SESP) and my major is Social Policy (minor in Spanish) though my concentration in Social Policy has been urban and public health. I am currently taking (slash, as we speak finishing the final for) Michael Diamond's Managing Global Health Challenges and I LOVE it. I also want to be a NNP and my decision to apply to the Rush GEP program was totally last minute. How long did you wait between application and interview and interview and admissions decision? Do you mind my asking what your GPA was like...I don't know anyone else at NU that has ever even looked into something similar, much less the SAME THING! (sorry...my enthusiasm is a little off the wall due to lack of sleep) Anyway, I'd love to get to talk to you more since you were in such a similar position last year. I don't know if we're supposed to do this but my e-mail address is [email protected] if you have any info you're willing to provide that wouldn't work with this particular forum.

Thanks so much!
