I have 2 sisters that live in Roswell. It is the biggest town for about 180 miles, about 40,000 people, flat and the wind blows alot. As far as the medical comunity it is really a "good ole boy network" and from what my sisters say,(their own personal experiences, with me saying "what!! we haven't done that in 20 yrs") not exactly in the "cutting edge". I live in Denver so I may be prejudice. Cost of living reasonable, but wages also don't match up to the big city.

Your icon doesn't look like RN...Could you represent yourself(your icon) as RN?

I haven't a clue what you're talking about. My ICON?

I am trying to get some info about Roswell. Instead of critiquing my icon you could post something relating to the question I asked.

Sorry I didn't mean to criticize about you..

Well....roswell is that much conservative...ok?

I'm not sure which places you got offered from the recruiter..

I only know pay rates and pay-scales of Roswell to those of Texas and Colorado are 1 to 1.5 or 2...

Hope this helps.

Where are you going to work?

I notice you live in Roswell...

I only know pay rates and scales are 50% to 100% lower than those in Texas and Colorado...

Hope this helps.

The bold sentence says more than i could every hope to say about small town New Mexico.

Great fishing and outdoorsy stuff in that part of NM, although I prefer Northern NM for fishing.

If a pay rate were 100 % lower than a pay rate in Colorado or Texas, wouldn't that make the rate ZERO? Frankly, I find that difficult to believe. I am also skeptical as to any of the posts in reply to Shezam are from persons who know anything at all about living in Roswell.

Does anyone who actually knows something about it wish to comment on the original question? Because I, too, am considering relocating there and I'd like to know something factual.

Thank you

It was a typo (you do make a typo sometimes, don't you?)

...sorry for the confusion....I have edited my message now, so you will see what was my initial intention was....

"I only know pay rates and pay-scales of Roswell to those of Texas and Colorado are 1 to 1.5 or 2.."....

How long have been living in Roswell? I've been here for 2 years, yet I used to in a doctor's office in Roswell as CMA, so I know a little bit about living expenses and pay scale...

i'm living in 5-minute walking distance from the hospital and the covenant care center near which all other health facilities are proximately located.

yes, i want to move out of the town if i can once i get my rn licensure.

i have been working as a certified medical assistant (not can) at a doctor's office in roswell, so i have been heard as to how health care workers are paid in this town.
