Rose State RN Spring 2013

Hello All!

Anyone else applying for Rose's beginning track RN program for Spring 2013? Just wanted to see who all was in the same boat as me.

They offered it to me but it really wasn't the route I wanted to take at the time. Looking back I regret that decision but hey. I didn't apply for the Spring because I only had 115 points on the new scale and knew it wouldn't be nearly enough. I'll have 127 when I apply for the fall though so with any luck that will be enough. I wish they would have made this new point system go into effect for the next app period instead of throwing it out there the month of the deadline, it hasn't gone over well with a lot of people I've talked to that was within one point of the old system like myself. Time is all relative and in 10 years from now the two semesters it threw me behind won't matter, but right now it sure leaves a bitter taste in the air. Class is hard enough without the red tape from the division heads making things more complicated.

I understand. I emailed the director to ask a question about points and she told me they were in the process of changing it, wouldn't give me details though. When they finally released the new system I was like ***. Nothing like throwing a wrench in things.

Wow yeah that's crazy. Hopefully by this time next year though we all will be in a program... Fingers crossed!

Also applied for the career ladder. I had 94 points. The wait is killing me!

Apparently OSU-OKC has already sent out letters too! Our letters wont be mailed out til around Thanksgiving... I HATE THIS WAIT!!!

Thanksgiving!?!? That's crazy. I wish they'd hurry up.

Its interesting that they wait a month after they know who is getting in the program. When I applied for last spring, my letter was dated October 28th and I didnt get said letter till the middle of November. What gives?

Any news??? Anyone??? This wait is ridiculous. I don't understand how every nursing program in the state releases acceptance letters a WHOLE month earlier than Rose State. That extra month would be really nice to prepare work schedule along with every thing else that needs to be done. With that being said i am fairly confident (hoping) that 118 will be the cut off. Thats just because i dont think they would tell prospective students a number unless they were fairly confident but i really don't know. Anyways good luck everyone

Has anyone received a "yes" or a "no" letter? I am an LPN and I applied for Spring of 2013. I am sick to my stomach with worry and check the mail every single day in anticipation. I guess the longer it takes the better. I've heard the denial letters are mailed out before the acceptance letters.

The secretary said letters won't be mailed til around Thanksgiving.

They send them out towards the end of the month. I was accepted into fall program but had to withdrawal and re apply for spring.... I had a baby on sept 1, 2012 and it was just to hard.... The teachers where awesome though! I can't wait to get back in! I had a 136 Pts on the old system... Not sure what I have the new way...

I'm pretty sure they can't give the cut off before... But hang on ill add my Pts up... I didn't have to redo my app so I'm not sure what I have...
