Rose State RN Spring 2013

Hello All!

Anyone else applying for Rose's beginning track RN program for Spring 2013? Just wanted to see who all was in the same boat as me.

I met with the director before i submitted my application and she said the cut-off would be 118, but that was a few days before the submission date, and there may be a few people who turned in their app that might raise that number. Fingers crossed though!

I hope your information is correct and the cutoff stayed at 118!!!

Just thought I would join in, my application is in as well.

Hello All!

I don't want to rain on anyones parade but the cutoff for the past two years has been 130+ and with the new additions to the point system, that number is bound to increase. It would be nice if for some reason the number was that low but I just don't see it. Anywho, good luck to everyone that applied! Update as you get your letters in Nov!

I totally disagree with Josh, I too think the point cutoff for the next couple of application periods will be lower than the previous 130+. Comp 1, 2, Nutrition, History, Government, Psych and Develop Psych all decreased from 2 to 1 point and Micro from 10 to 5. That's 12 points hence the difference from 130 to 118. Additional points will be awarded for Chem, Med Term and Human Physio but most applicants for this application period will not have those points because they were not previously required. Good luck to all!

Jayok, my thoughts exactly. Good luck to you!

I to spoke with the director and she said the new point system changes the way points are added up entirely. She said when she reconfigured acceptance scores from fall 12 and applied them to the new point system she believed the cut off for spring 13 would be "about" 118. It is true that the point system will be low until students can take other courses to raise their scores. Human physiology has a preq and will set students behind at least 2 semesters to be competitive in the new point system. I applied also and also hopes it stays at 118! Good luck everyone

Hey everyone! I applied for career ladder and a guy named **** called me today saying that they needed a retyped letter from my employer stating I work 40hrs. I don't know if I got in or not since they are asking me for more info? Usually they don't do that. If it's an incomplete application they usually just don't accept you. Im hoping I get in. I was at 68 on career ladder points. I wishing everyone luck! Hopefully we will all get in!

OCCC sent out letters yesterday; we still have to wait til next month, no fair.

Yeah I'll just go ahead and insert foot in mouth on this one ... Did not know what I was talking about at that point, I was just frustrated that I have to take even more classes now.

Josh, did you not go LPN route? Did you apply for Spring?
