RN Scheduler Interview

Greetings Everyone,

I have an interview for the position of RN Scheduler in a OR at one of the local hospitals and was wondering if anyone has ever heard of or worked in this position? I have searched the internet and can't seem to find any information on this type of position or what it entails. I am looking to transition from floor nursing for a while until I finish my MSN in nursing administration. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Thank You!

No I haven't heard of it but it sounds like a secretary with nurse knowledge. I think they may want a nurse who can figure out what the doctors will need and can assess what is and isn't emergent maybe? They might even cross train you in the OR if they are short. I dunno just my opinion. Good luck!
