So I need some help if anyone can help me. I unfortunately did not pass my NXCLEX on my 3rd attempt. When I called the state they told me I had to take a refresher course did not tell me what kind or type or anything. I am unsure of what is considered a refresher course and was wondering if anyone has had to take it that would be able to help at all with this. I want to try and complete it so I can go ahead and take the NCLEX again and pray that I pass. Not sure what else to do at this point. Feel like I have tried everything. If anyone can help me that would be great. Thank you!

For starters, what state? Does the BoN say refresher or remediation? Sometimes remediation can include Hurst or Kaplan classroom or online classes. Refresher classes usually include clinical and classroom theory with a hands on lab. Many 2year county colleges offer such a refresher class. I've seen costs several hundred to a couple of thousand dollars depending on the area of the country.
Did you approach your nursing school? They have a vested interest in you passing the NCLEX. Some schools are qualified to offer refresher classes to former students and do so at a reduced rate.
I think I called the BON actually and she just said to google refresher course and to find one to take. I didn't get any direction at all. I have not contacted my school yet . I know I seen some online that were pretty pricey.
Once again, if you specify which state members may be able to help you. These classes are not cheap as they are refreshers of your nursing education, lab skills and clinical skills but it is cheaper than returning to nursing school.

Hi I applied for hawaii bon instead of taking a refresher course. You can retake without limits. That's what I did. Message me if you need help
