I attended the Molloy College Refresher Course. They do clinicals at South Nassau in Oceanside and Mercy Hospital in Rockville Centre. I did my clinicals at South Nassau and got a job there. I didn't take the job for personal reasons, but I liked the program and the hospital. Adelphi University in /Garden City has the same type of 6 week refresher course. They use Winthrop for clinicals. Stony Brook Hospital has a program through the hospital-not the college. It is quite different. It is a preceptor program with tests. The other two are taught clinicals by teachers instead of preceptors. I was able to give meds in the Mercy Program under a teacher's observation. There is no med giving at Stony Brook, and unfortunately, a good program can be ruined by a poor preceptor. PM me if you want any more details. I am an island girl, so I don't know of any city refresher courses. The University of Deleware has an online program, but you would have to worry about getting your own clinicals. I am out of nurse field for about 5 years and currently I am looking for a RN refresher course in NYC (queens, manhattan, brooklyn, staten island). Does anyone know anyplace offer such course? Any information and advice are welcome.

I am also looking on staten island. can't seem to find any. i called the hospitals and nursing schools and local colleges here. Nothing.
