RN to MSN Program

Published

I am looking for information on the RN to MSN program through Excelsior. I am really thinking of starting this program, but would just like feed back from people who have/or are currently in the program. For example is it all self study then test or are there any clinicals involved?

I'm just doing the MSN portion, so I cannot really speak (much) to the BSN part. For the MSN (education focus), I had 11 classes to do for completion -- working on class 4 and 5 right now. There are a couple that are 8 week courses, but the rest are 15 weeks in length with discussion posts, individual papers, and group papers. I'm enjoying it! I also get a great break on tuition because I'm active duty (Army).

I don't think there are any clinicals in the BSN portion, but I believe a couple of the BSN classes can be done with a test-out option. There is a thread here about the BSN program: https://allnurses.com/excelsior-college-online/anyone-enrolled-ec-700794.html

The nursing catalog is available as a free download from EC's website, and it gives a pretty solid overview of their program offerings. Good luck, whatever you decide!
