:nurse:I got clearance from EC to enroll in the RN-MSN PROGRAM after I complete my ASN this year. I have a BS and a Master's in another subject. Does anyone know how long it will take to complete the MSN? I will probably major in informatics.

The problem with estimating program lengths is that people take course loads that meet their own needs. It depends on how many hours you work, what family responsibilities and other commitments you have, and a number of other factors.
I opted for the RN-to-BSN program for two reasons: 1) because I didn't want to get stuck somewhere in the middle of the RN-to-MSN and have nothing tangible to show for it, and 2) because I'd ultimately like an MSN in advanced practice as opposed to education or informatics.

There is an stop out option in Excelsior's RN-MSN program. You can stop once you achieve the BSN level and then you need to make sure you have enough credits to be BSN level....if you are short a few you can take a nursing elective. I called and asked this question...but the answer is also in the viewbook under the program description. I was concerned the same as you about being stuck some where inbetween...but it's ok because they do have the option!
