RN, MSN with background in Exercise Science

Hi everyone,

I am trying to figure out a career that combines both of my degrees. My bachelor's is in exercise science and I have my RN and MSN in clinical nurse leadership. I was a personal trainer for 3 years before going to nursing school and have now been a nurse for 6 years.

My nursing background is 4 years in the ED and the last two years in reproductive health. I don't know that nursing is my passion and I feel like maybe I made a mistake by going into nursing as I dread the work. I loved personal training and I feel like there has got to be something out there for a nurse with a fitness background where I still make a decent salary.

Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on this?

Have you looked into Cardiac Rehab?

Cardiac rehab!

It's a pretty unique role to help patients recovering from cardiac events. You might provide dietary education, support, supervise patients exercising to see how they tolerate it, teach exercises patients can complete on their own, and work closely with cardiologists when changes are needed in a patient's rehab plan. You'd monitor VS and cardiac rhythms.
