RN to Coding

For all the nurses that have switched over to Coding careers. Does "coding" work constitute as "working RN hours" when it comes time to renew RN license? 
 

In other words...If I work as a coder (with RN license), would I be able to count those hours towards the 500 practiced hours that are required to renew my RN license? I'm hoping to maintain my RN license along with my coding certification without having to do any extra hours for each.
