Hello all,
I am currently a paramedic and have just applied to the EC program.
I want to make sure I am heading down the right path.
I need lots of pre reqs so my plan is to start knocking them out with clep this summer(as many as possible) Then enroll with EC in Sept before the program changes, start on NC1-7 then on to the dreaded CPNE.
Am I missing something?
Thanks in advance.

Make sure the state you wish to be licenced in accepts EC
I live in Illinois, but plan to get licensed and work in Missouri. I have contacted the BON in Missouri and have been told EC is accepted. I have read that you must have two years as RN to be accepted in Illinois.

Ask EC about how the clinicals are carried out. I get phone calls from people wanting to come to our facility so they can save time/gas in travel. But we do not have contract with student or EC so we say no. Too much risk and responsiblity on our part. Your tuition goes to EC not to us, so we get nothing but risk. Make sure you understand about the clinicals.

?? The CPNE IS the clinical for EC. There are no other clinicals. EC assumes that you work in a hospital and that if you don't you will somehow learn how to function in a hospital setting. The CPNE totally tests your ability to function as an RN in a hospital.
