Retrogression in Visa process (especially India)

Retrogression has been ongoing a lot since 2006. Basically means demand outweighs amount of visas allocated. India has been more affected that the Philippines with delays. It affects all professions as visas generally allocated on place of birth to facilitate diversity. Visa Bulletin gives you ideas on the wait and most nurses and professions come under EB3 unless specialised and job meets EN2 and EB1 then may be a little bit quicker

Okay so is this retrogression only for green card visas or both green card and work visas as well???

I mean if i wish to go through the work visa route (not the green card visas) then it might be quicker provided that somebody is sponsoring work visa for me. did i get it correct?

H1b is the work visa and only x amount allocated yearly and last couple years the amount is gone in hours and is open to all professions. Difficulty will be finding a hospital not affected by the cap.

H1b is not affected by retrogression but if wanting to go green card route once in the U.S. With work visa you will still be affected by retrogression and have to maintain H1b status or leave the U.S. Until PD is current
