Not sure whether even worth it for my employer to file (if they even will) for green card if it will take so many years for it to materialize. Think I may be better gaining experience and then pursuing graduate degree or something different? Thoughts?? Thank you so much for your input. I'm a Canadian in tn status.

If plan is to live permanently in the US then I would say go ahead and start the process but a lot will depend on whether you plan on committing yourself to the job for a long time etc
Thank you as always SilverDragon!!! My concern is by the time retrogression is supposed to be done, the government will have changed the laws and the green card application won't even apply or something. Maybe this fear is highly unfounded. I don't know. It's incredibly frustrating to think that everything is so in limbo.
I would image that even if the US government changes anything if already in the queue I would think that would stand. This is something similar to what Canada has done as they changed requirements a couple of months ago but those (like me) that was already in the queue stays on the old system and only applicants from x date has to meet the new requirements
Oh, wonderful!! Where are you from originally? Canada is a wonderful country - my home!!
Love the bit of Canada I have seen as well as live in and came from the UK
