Hello everyone...its me again. Has anyone here ever heard of having to repeat courses you were previously successful in when reappying to the nursing program? I was told that even though I passed all my courses in first semester, I would have to repeat them all over again. I ended up failing two classes in second semester, so I am currently out for one year. Right now I'm trying to decide if I should go back there in one year (and have to repeat first semester), or just go to another school and possibly start this summer in an LPN program. Is anyone else's school this way? I have talked to other students at other schools, and they tell me that they only repeat what they don't pass. I am so discouraged! I feel like I have worked so hard for nothing. I know I can pass the courses, but thats not the point. According to our student handbook, when a student reapplies to the program, they get tested on the courses they passed. This instructor is telling me something totally different!!

Each school has its way of doing things. Any of your options that you have identified would be acceptable depending on what you feel like doing. I would not step back to LPN though unless unsuccessful again. Actually I would play out your journey through this program before I looked for another unless you have extremely bad feelings that the deck is stacked for some reason. Only you know your situation and how you see it. Good luck with your decision. And don't forget, you need to do some introspection to figure out what went wrong and to make the necessary changes so that you can be successful. And check with the school administration. It is possible that the one instructor gave you misinformation.
