I am currently looking into ELMSN and ADN nursing programs and had a few questions on the class/ prereq retake policies of nursing schools. I do recognize that most schools have their own policies but I wanted to hear opinions on retaking classes because my situation is not so great. I graduated from UC Berkeley with a really low GPA (2.3). After taking 2 years off to find out what I wanted to do with my life and working, I wanted to go into nursing. As I understand, nursing has gotten exponentially competitive in the recent years and I know my chances don't seem that great with my undergraduate GPA. Currently though, I have retaken a lot of my classes at the local community college and my last 60 units average out to a 3.5 (Physics and calculus brought me down), and my prerequisite GPA is a 4.0. I am currently working as a medical scribe, pharmacy technician, and am working to get my license as an EMT with CPR certification. I am really interested in Samuel Merritt because I have heard that while they do have GPA requirements, they tend to factor in other aspects. I would really appreciate any kind of advice or tips you guys may have. Thanks!
