Retaining info

Hello, all.

my name is Jessica, and I'm new to this forum.

im going to be starting an ABSN program soon. I'm fresh from undergrad. I have a question about retaining info. I took a&p 1 &2. I remember many things like the bones, the fact that there are 7 cervical, 12 thoracic, and 5 lumbar vertebrae, circulation pathways, etc. however, I've forgotten some minute details. For example, is someone mentions otoliths, I know that they're talking about the ear. The inner ear, I'm sure. But I'm not sure about its function. I'm sure that it has to do with the semicircular canals or vestibules, but I'm not positive. I'm just beating myself up about this, because around this time last year when I was learning this in a&p 2, I knew it so well. So, any nurses willing to dole some advice to a young nurse-to-be?

Open a book and refresh your memory if it comes up again. There are going to be MUCH more important things to remember in nursing than the function of otoliths. Wait until you take a pharmacology class and start learning about drugs!
