Resume Information

Hello fellow nurses,

I have a question for anyone out there that knows what they are looking for on resumes. I have been working as an LVN for the last 4 years at the same job, a nursing home. It was the first job I accepted as an LVN and have stayed there. I recently became an RN, as of November 1 as a matter of fact. I want to start applying for jobs in a hospital now and I was curious how much previous job experience I should include. Like I stated my current job i have been at for 4 years and no prior nursing experience. I worked at a bank previous to that. How far back should I go on my work experience? Do I include the bank? Thanks for any help you can offer!

I would not include the bank as it is not your most recent job and is completely unrelated to the position you seek. The only time I have included a non-nursing job on my resume was when I was applying for my very first nursing position.

The way I have my CV set up now, I have it listed into specialization, where I list my various positions with date and title. Then I go into professional experience, where I highlight my actual skills.
