Resume Help!!!

Hi I am recently a new grad and have just passed my NCLEX and have been working on my resume. So far I have my education, licensures and certifications done but needed some help on my clinical experience part. I have my senior preceptorship part done but for my community clinical preceptorship I was placed at an elementary school (pre k- 5th grade) with a school nurse in NYC and for my Leadership preceptorship, I was placed on a dialysis unit. I just not really sure how I should word these two since, I wasn't really hands one in them but observed more. Any thoughts??

    I would just list them under clinical or even a preceptorship section - You can provide a little information about them, but you don't need a lot of space for them. I had a nurse recruiter tell me that they don't need to see all of your clinical information since everyone has to go through the same clinicals for nursing school.

    "Clinical Experience" means paid work, not academic activities to fulfill program requirements. You can add some bullet points in the Education section if you want to point out the areas in which you had student experiences.

    My suggestion? Change the section to just "Experience" (leave out clinical). Then list any paying jobs you have had. There is a lot of job experience that is relevant to nursing. For instance, customer service, time management, accuracy, attention to detail, communication.... these are all portable skills that are very applicable to any nursing job.

    No one expects a new grad to have clinical experience as a nurse. Hiring managers are probably very familiar with your nursing program so there's no need to try to fluff it out into actual job experience.
